Our guest cabin offers an ideal opportunity to come and stay and enjoy the wild beauty of Bjärkan.
The traditional Falun Red Cabin is in the wild & remote Ansättfjallen area of Northern Sweden. Located just 15 minutes walk to Akersjön lake this is an all-year round paradise. Renowned for the miles of wild snow-mobile tracks and cross-country ski-ing in winter and stunning hiking territory in spring/summer. We have contacts with local dog-sled family businesses and can also help you arrange snowmobile hire should you wish to explore the local wilderness. There is both cross-country and downhill ski-ing on our doorstep!
During the winter months the location offers great possibilities for viewing the Northern Lights!
We are in a particularly dark night area unspoilt by light pollution at a latitude of 63°46 north so ideal for catching a display.
During the winter of 2023 and for the next year, the Aurora Borealis are due to be at their highest activity for 20 years - so come and have the chance to be enthralled by this incredible natural phenomena.
The cabin is located within our forest-farm complex - 107 acres of forest, river, views and quiet included!
The cabin is a beautiful self-contained space within our forest farm. It enjoys far-reaching views across the land, down to the lake and mountains. You will never wake-up to the same view twice however! Spectacular sunrises, misty mornings, cloud hanging low over the lake, magical frozen landscapes can all be yours.
The cabin offers accommodation for up to eight people in two double/twin rooms and two bunk rooms. There is a well-equipped kitchen/diner, a cosy lounge area and a large shower-room. To help you unplug and really relax there is no TV or WiFi, but if you need to stay in contact there is good phone signal. And you'll enjoy the many walks through our forest and beyond, pristine nature, winter-sports paradise and summer-hiking heaven. You'll also have access to a outdoor hot-tub, beautiful outdoor fire-pit just outside and an outdoor seating area.
The cabin is very well-insulated and heated via an air-source heater that keeps it incredibly cosy in the cold months. You'll also have access to firewood for the fire-pit outside at no extra cost.
