Community Camps
The main way to participate is through one of our community camps. The community camp is for two weeks and a structured time to live, work, learn & play with around 20 others - we offer accommodation, nourishing meals, hands-on experience in low-impact community living and experiential learning in both practical & relational skills for intentional community living and resilient futures. The camps are supported within our three core principles of Kinship, Regeneration & Community
Work Exchange

As part of the exchange, we ask that everyone participates in the 4 hour work period each day. You'll have the opportunity to put existing skills to use as well as learn new. Daily structured project meetings support everyone to feel involved and part of a team. The work varies over the time you are here depending on current projects, but might involve painting, building, forestry and permaculture.
Community Building Curriculum

We offer a collaboratively created structure to the two weeks of community camp. There are daily check-ins, work periods, workshops, free-time as well as ongoing facilitated sessions to offer a depth learning experience, tools & processes supportive to intentional community living & working together. You'll leave the camp better-equipped to take forwards ways of working collaboratively in all areas of your life.
Nature Immersion

Bjärkan is located within the Ansättfjällen wilderness area of Northern Sweden. As well as our 107 acres of vibrant forest surrounding us, we have access to endless trails into beautiful mountain wilderness from the door. Our camps provide ample opportunity to spend time developing a deeper understanding & connection with nature. Justine brings her extensive experience working as an Ecotherapist to support camp participants learn and understand more about the ecosystem we are part of here.
Community Experience

Sharing time together to foster connection is an integral part of our community camps. As well as sharing meals and work, we actively support deepening trust and connection through daily check-ins, reflective practices, dance and group activities. There's, of course, complete respect for personal time out in solitude too, but you'll leave the two-weeks hopefully having made friends for life.
Bring your Gift

If you have a skill or offering you'd like to share with the community during the camp, we really welcome that. We've had folk offer yoga sessions, breathwork, 5 rhythms dance & more. Your contributions to the community are so appreciated.
Future Involvement

For those who may be interested in a longer-term involvement in our project, the community camps are a good first step in getting to know us and for us to get to know you. We've enjoyed continuing to nurture relationships and collaboration with some of the folk from our first community camp and some have already returned back for further stays with us. Our longer-term vision is to see an emergent community develop here and we welcome those interested in exploring that.
