Bjärkan is open for volunteers throughout the summer, from 30 June to 23 August 2026. At the heart of this is the Volunteer Community Gathering (30 June – 11 July): a focused 12-day work exchange with a larger group of 10–15 volunteers, contributing 4–5 hours a day across eight shared workdays — land care, maintenance, building, forestry, and communal life.

 

Outside this window, we also welcome volunteers for shorter, more flexible stays across the wider summer period.

 

In exchange, volunteers receive shared accommodation, all vegetarian meals, and participation in a living community shaped by sauna, lake swims, shared hikes, circles, rest, and play. This is not a retreat or training, but a relational, hands-on invitation into kinship, community, and regeneration.
