MIDSUMMER COMMUNITY GATHERING
Celebration, Co-Creation & Connection to the Land
June 16th - June 23rd 2026
In these uncertain and fast-changing times, the need for village — even temporary — is deep and real. We come together to remember what it feels like to live in rhythm with the land, to be held by community, and to celebrate the cycles of life in connection with something greater than ourselves.
This week at Bjärkan is an invitation to co-create a living village: a space where all generations are welcome, where creativity and stillness sit side by side, and where the work of joy, grief, and gratitude is honoured in shared ritual.
Together, we’ll tend the fire of communitas — that soul-deep sense of belonging that arises when people gather with intention and care
What to Expect
We’ll follow a spacious rhythm, shaped by the land, the light, and the people who come. There will be time for rest, forest wandering, wild swimming, mountain hiking, play, song, silence, and simple togetherness. A daily circle will anchor our days, and everyone will be invited to offer something if they feel called — a practice, a craft, a song, a story, a hand in the kitchen, or simply presence.
The midsummer weekend will include a more focused arc of ritual, dance, and celebration as we gather around the solstice fire. We’ll honour the height of the light and all it illuminates — joy, beauty, vitality, and also the griefs we carry, the thresholds we face, and the hopes we hold.
Through shared meals, sauna and lake swims, firelight conversation and song, we’ll remember how to be human together — not in perfection, but in practice.
Who is this for?
This gathering is for anyone longing for connection — with land, with others, and with life itself.
You might be someone who dreams of village life, who wants to slow down and live more seasonally, who finds meaning in ritual and the rhythms of nature. Someone who knows in their bones that we are not meant to do this alone.
This is not a retreat in the traditional sense. It’s a co-created, living week of shared presence, where everyone contributes to the collective field.
We’ll build a village that can hold us all — adults, children, elders, newcomers — in a spirit of generosity and togetherness. Children are warmly welcomed as part of the whole, multi-generational weave, while the rhythm of the week will be shaped with the full community in heart and mind, not centred solely around children’s needs.
No special experience is needed. Just bring your openness, your gifts (seen or unseen), and your willingness to help tend a space of joy, reverence, creativity, and connection.
RITUAL
Shared rituals offer space to honour the turning of the seasons, tending to both the visible and invisible threads that shape our lives.
COMMNUNITY
We come together to share daily life — cooking, walking, creating and resting side by side, building a sense of belonging through simple, human connection.
Nature-Connection
Our wilderness location offers an environment in which to immerse & connect deeply with the wider web of relations we are all a part of
CELEBRATION
Through music, shared meals, movement and gathering by the fire, we mark the height of summer with warmth, laughter and gratitude
Being at Bjärkan
About Us
Since 2018, Nick Osborne and Justine Corrie have been evolving their work around regenerative culture, group process, and land-based living. In 2023, they co-founded Bjärkan as a place to explore these themes in practice — through seasonal gatherings, resilience work, and the cultivation of community.
The Midsummer Community Gathering is one expression of this vision: a week of living together simply and intentionally, creating temporary village, and celebrating the fullness of summer through ritual, shared meals, nature connection, and co-created joy.

Justine Corrie
Justine Corrie is a Contemplative and Systemic Psychotherapist, facilitator, and co-founder of Bjärkan. Her work is rooted in earth-based and ancestral practices, with a focus on soul-tending, collective resilience, and the power of ritual.
